The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved the use of Juvéderm VOLUMA XC with a TSK STERiGLIDE cannula for cheek augmentation procedures. Juvéderm VOLUMA is a hyaluronic acid gel dermal filler that has been used since 2013 to restore volume to the cheeks. By combining Juvéderm VOLUMA with a cannula, plastic surgeons now have another option for contouring the mid-face and cheeks. This procedure was approved after 60 subjects completed a 12-week study. All participants completed the study and results revealed similar outcomes, safety, and patient satisfaction between cannula procedures and needle injections.
