Meet Amanda Troester. Amanda has been with Dr. J. J. Wendel Plastic Surgery since 2013. She has spent nearly twenty years in healthcare and has been creating, fostering, and empowering healthcare teams for over a decade as a healthcare manager. Her compassionate, empathetic nature lends itself to exceptional service and passionate patient advocacy.
Amanda received her Associates of Arts degree from Kirkwood Community College in 1999. She graduated with honors as a Phi Theta Kappa member and was the recipient of the Crawford Merit Scholarship. She then attended Coe College and the University of Northern Iowa.
Amanda and her husband, Brian, reside in Spring Hill with their two daughters, Emily and Kirsten and puppy, Minnie Pearl (adopted from Russell Rescue). She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, writing, and listening to audiobooks during her commute to and from Dr. J. J. Wendel Plastic Surgery.
As a grad student in French at UCLA, Mary discovered a love of PR, marketing, and branding by accident and quit school to begin her career as a publicist and digital marketer in 2010. She moved to Nashville in 2011 and worked for an agency where she met and befriended Dr. Wendel.
Throughout her career, Mary’s led teams, managed national and local campaigns, and created content for hundreds of clients in a variety of industries, her favorites of which are beauty, health, and wellness. Mary brings her passion for creativity and community service to Dr. J. J. Wendel Plastic Surgery.
In her free time, Mary enjoys teaching meditation, painting, and writing. She
loves her plant family, her rescued greyhound, a gluten-free PB&J, a good sweat in an infrared sauna, and sprinkling kindness like glitter everywhere, trusting that its sparkle will never fade.
Penny Bowman, BSN, RN, CST is a licensed registered nurse and certified surgical technologist. She has 8 years of experience in delivering patient care, with over 4 years as a registered nurse caring for medical-surgical and plastic surgery patients.
As a surgical technologist, Penny had a desire for more patient interaction and knowledge. While working in surgery she received an Associate’s Degree of Nursing from Aquinas College in 2012. After developing a strong passion for nursing she returned to school to advance her knowledge and clinical acumen. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Austin Peay State University in 2016. She is certified in basic life support (BLS).
Penny, a Nashville native, loves spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys travel, theatrical plays, music events, and caring for others.
Leslie Arthur, RN is a licensed registered nurse. After 15 years as a stay-at-home mom, Leslie received her Associates degree in nursing at Columbia State Community College in December of 2014. Before joining the team at DRJJWPS, she spent the first 5 years of her nursing career on the Mother/Baby unit at Centennial Medical Center.
Leslie lives in Brentwood, TN with her husband and children. Leslie has one married daughter, one daughter and one son in college and one daughter in high school. When she’s not working she enjoys traveling, taking walks, Bible study, going to the lake and going to her daughter’s cheer competitions. Most of her spare time is filled with family activities.
Jill Robbins was born and raised in California. She moved to Phoenix, AZ after high school, where she attended Apollo College and received her Medical Assisting certifications in 1995. Since then, Jill has worked in dermatology and plastic surgery. In 2020, Jill successfully completed training to become a Certified Aesthetic Laser Operator. Her favorite part of her job at Dr. J. J. Wendel Plastic Surgery is the personal interaction that she’s allowed with patients.
Jill loves being able to travel with her husband and spending quality time with her two children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and baking.
Emily joined our practice after spending twelve years in customer service. Five of those years were dedicated to healthcare. She is currently pursuing a career in nursing and is excited to be a part of Dr. Wendel’s professional and advanced medical team. Next to faith and family, she devotes her life to serving and providing care for others. Emily firmly believes that sincerity of the heart is shown through actions more than words.
Emily is currently attending nursing school at Nashville State Community College.
She loves spending time with her husband and three children doing outdoor activities of all types.
Eva is originally from Los Angeles, California but has been living in Nashville since 2006. She received her certification in medical assisting and phlebotomy in 2015. Eva enjoys helping others by overcoming language barriers. She is bilingual in both English and Spanish. Eva loves spending time with her family and her two dogs, Max and Dougie. In her free time she enjoys crafting, taking dance classes, and traveling. She is very excited to be a part of the team at Dr. J. J. Wendel Plastic Surgery!
Brittany was born and raised in the Nashville area. She has been in customer service since 2013 and loves helping others in any way that she can. She grew up in a huge family, which means everything to her. Brittany and her husband have a beautiful fur baby named Percy. She loves going on adventures and exploring different places. Aside from traveling, another hobby is photography.
Lauren was born and raised in Griffin, GA and has been in Nashville since 2011. Her love of music and performing brought her to “Music City” and she has since performed on hundreds of country music stages across the country. Lauren also brings with her over 5 years of customer service experience, as well as a medical aesthetics degree from Aveda Institute Nashville. In her free time she loves to spend time with family and friends, travel, and enjoy time outdoors.
She has a passion for serving and loving others, and is so excited to join the Dr. J. J. Wendel Plastic Surgery Team!
Jamie Sullivan was born and raised in Massachusetts. She attended school in Philadelphia, earning a BS in interior architecture. Jamie worked in the architecture and design world until a year ago when she decided to follow a true passion: plastic surgery and aesthetics. She moved to Nashville in the summer of 2020. Jamie enjoys one-on-one interactions and bringing a smile to the faces of patients as they walk through the door. She loves being able to see her family in Massachusetts whenever possible. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys trying new restaurants, working out and exploring her new home here in Nashville.
