Allergan Aesthetics, the medical aesthetics manufacturer owned by AbbVie, has released their 2022 “The Future of Aesthetics” global trends report. Allergan commissioned the report, and it was independently developed by specialist trend forecasting agency Wunderman Thompson Intelligence. The report highlights key trends that may shape the future of the aesthetics industry in the coming years.
Medical aesthetics consumer interest is up significantly and continues to rise. Physicians across the globe now see increasingly diverse patients of different ages, races, and genders. In addition, the number of dermal filler treatments worldwide grew by almost 2 million between 2017 and 2020.
Senior Vice President of AbbVie and president of Global Allergan Aesthetics, Carrie Strom, said, “[This] report helps us to understand what is driving aesthetics today and what will shape the aesthetics industry of tomorrow. The report builds on our 2019 research—Allergan 360° Aesthetics Report—about evolving global beauty perceptions and priorities and reaffirms our commitment to innovative science and the future growth of the market.”
