Millennials are the prime audience for these efforts; 40% of patients say social media is a strong influence on their decisions in choosing plastic surgeons. But numerous posts are being shared by untrained surgeons. For instance, a gynecologist may offer cosmetic procedures but did not go through the specialized training in aesthetics. Many plastic surgeons encourage their patients to do intensive research of qualified and board certified plastic surgeons and ask questions about their certifications before committing to a procedure of any kind.
