Formerly Conjoined Twins Make Their Journey Home

October 10, 2017 Tags: , ,

Jadon and Anias McDonald underwent a 27-hour separation surgery – led by a pediatric neurosurgeon and a craniofacial plastic surgeon – in October of 2016 and have been in extensive rehabilitation ever since. At the time of their final surgery, the twins shared 5×7 centimeters of brain tissue. During the recovery process, the boys have both learned how to use muscles like never before. After nine months of surgery and recovery, Jadon and Anais will be home in time to celebrate their second birthday and to start living a more normal life. Their father, Christian McDonald said, “I’m just so excited for them. I’m sure they just want to come home and be with their family, and we want them to come home.”
