Allergan PLC recently released a study (360° Aesthetics Report) in which researchers observed cosmetic trends worldwide. Through the study, Allergen collected data from 14,500 consumers and 1,300 plastic surgeons in 18 countries. Results concluded that aesthetic procedures are at an all-time high with 28% of global patients using the internet as their source of research and 82% of U.S. consumers using Instagram as their lead source of information. Researchers have concluded that the rise of aesthetics is linked to the way patients, especially Millennials, are viewing facial injectables, skincare, and body contouring as part of their health routine.
