In a series of Instagram comments, Kate Beckinsale denies the use of plastic surgery, despite her youthful appearance as she approaches her 50th birthday. As the debates in her comments continued, the actress chimed in from time to time defending herself from the accusations, stating “I haven’t sorry … maybe in July everything will start falling off lol … no threads no thread lift no Botox no laser no nose job no filler.”
Eventually, the actress confessed that she receives facials with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) to boost collagen for skin tightening purposes. This plasma contains high amounts of growth factors, which can be used for skin rejuvenation, and treatment of scars and stretch marks. Utilizing microneedling, PRP treatments create tiny punctures in the skin, encouraging the body’s natural collagen production. By stimulating collagen production, the treated skin will see a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines, acne, stretch marks and scars, uneven tones, and sagging skin.
Despite not having done any laser treatments, Beckinsale states that she is open to laser treatment in the future. Although, she shared that she holds some concerns about laser treatment, “I probably would try laser, but I’m a bit scared. Haven’t so far.” Laser treatments are in fact completely safe, serving as an additional tool for skin rejuvenation. By using a laser, clinicians are able to target specific areas affected by sun damage, acne scars, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. At Dr. J. J. Wendel Plastic Surgery, we have a variety of laser treatments that go deep into the skin’s layers to create a more youthful, healthy, and refreshed appearance.
