With a regular facelift, the scar extends around the bottom of the earlobe and behind the ear. Potential discomfort, temporary numbness, bruising, and swelling are common. You will also need to see your surgeon several times post-surgery to monitor your healing.
There are risks for complications with any surgery, and some may not be good candidates. For example, patients who smoke cigarettes are not good candidates as they may have trouble healing post-surgery.
