A study published in the Journal of Aging Studies uncovered that, as individuals age, their motivations for undergoing cosmetic procedures change. Data was collected from a group of men and women between the ages of 25 and 75, and results concluded that younger patients are chiefly concerned with the shape and appearance of their bodies. Older adults, on the other hand, were more focused on their facial features. These older patients felt as though their faces no longer matched their self-identity, and they wanted to pursue cosmetic surgery as a way to reinstate their youthful appearance.
