Since 2011, the FDA and a board of experts in plastic surgery, epidemiology, pathology and oncology have worked together to dive deep into the reports of anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) in patients with saline and silicone-gel breast implants. Over the years, some headlines have caused alarm and spread misinformation about the situation. The FDA recently released an update on their findings with experts saying there is no need to panic, which will hopefully give some relief to the many individuals who have undergone breast augmentation with implants.
