In 2021, a balanced and beautiful facial structure is more sought-after than ever, with lifted and sculpted cheeks being a focal point. Based on reports, searches online for cheek fillers have risen 218% since 2018. Recently, the FDA approved Restylane Contour for cheek augmentation and correction of midface contour deficiencies in adults over the age of 21. Restylane Contour, a new hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler, is Galderma’s first and only product in the U.S. formulated with XpresHAn Technology for the cheeks, according to the company. The FDA approval comes with promising results showing that Restylane Contour is safe and effective for these augmentations and corrections, with high satisfaction and rare mild side effects.

Outside of the U.S., Restylane Contour is marketed as Restylane Volyme, which received its CE-mark (the European Union’s version of the FDA) in 2010 and has been used to treat over 1.5 million patients worldwide to date. US practices will start introducing Restylane Contour this summer.
