Recently, Mayo Clinic has been pressing the question of whether or not insurers should be covering the cost of a face transplant. Face transplants are taking place more regularly in the operating room, so should this procedure still be called research? A lot of surgeons are no longer considering face transplants experimental, and it might be time for insurers to start thinking the same way.
