Salt Lake City Startup Has Stem Cell Treatment to Regenerate Skin

March 21, 2018 Tags: , , , ,

A Salt Lake City startup called PolarityTE, Inc. believes they have created a better treatment for burn victims. Their invention, SkinTE, is a stem cell mixture in a thick paste that would be spread onto a burn from a syringe. The treatment is currently being tested on patients across the country at undisclosed hospitals. CEO of PolarityTE, Inc., Denver Lough, left his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to fully support the growing popularity of SkinTE. Lough predicts that this treatment “will change the face and practice of regenerative medicine” for burn victims, injured soldiers, diabetics, and many others with deep wounds.
